The invitation to this particular event caught me by surprise as many of my friends who applied for the event were denied the confirmation. So after I got the confirmation to the Amazon Web Service(AWS) Summit, 2013 which was happening at Grand Hyatt, Santacruz was way much excited. Lets not dig in deep into my personal elation & start with what actually happened at the event.
The Attendance at the event caught me by surprise there were 800+ attendees present at the venue which was way much beyond my expectation. The organizing committee did a great work to accommodate this mammoth crowd by merging in 3 ballrooms together.
The Agenda for the event were as follows :
(1) Opening keynote
(2) Understanding the Total cost of ownership in the cloud.
Hands on labs were kept for attendees which allowed people to understand how actually one should use the wen\b services provided by Amazon for ones be\own benefits.
Post Lunch, the sessions were divided into 3 tracks based on the expertise/understanding/likes of the attendees :
- Start up and Developer Track
- Enterprise Track
- Solution & AWS Use cases track
As a Developer and with little knowledge of Amazon web services I decided to seat in the Start up & Developer Track where some concepts were being shared with some coding demonstration of how it is easy to use Amazon Web Services.

This sessions were then followed by Tea/Coffee break after which the ballrooms were merged into single for the fire chat with the CTO of Amazon Dr. Werner Vogels. Dr. Werner is one of the coolest CTOs that ever came across, he was dressed in the Indian Cricket Jersey was a jovial person & his sense of humor was amazing.
